I spent three days running around Ohio last week. A couple observations - there seemed to be a little less Shawnee in the malls and shops than there was seven months ago (although I can't prove it). What really stood out was the lack of Smiley & Winnie cookie jars.. I saw 4 Smileys (one cold painted) & 1 Winnie, a chocolate bank head with a matching Smiley. I lost count on Puss n Boots, easily a dozen, priced from $125 to $325. None gold trimmed. One Little Chef in green. One Elephant and no Jo Jo Clowns.

I think the Ebay market is going to see a little turn around. It seems like the more desirable pieces are beginning to make a price recovery. It's supply and demand working it course. The common stuff will probably never see much recovery. But, as all the new collectors get over the buy everything rush and begin appreciating the harder to find treasures maybe things will pick up.

Speaking of treasures - I found one of the rarest of the rare while in Ohio. It's true - you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find a prince or princess. I was looking for a princess, ended up with a pig. Why should that make me happy ----- the answer will be in the upcoming newsletter.
